What is Cloud Computing?
Instead of using a local server or a personal computer, cloud computing allows users to access a network of remote servers located on the internet to store, manage, and analyze data. A cloud service platform with pay-as-you-go pricing provides on-demand computing power.
Advantages of Cloud Computing
1. Trade capital expense for variable expense
Clients will only pay for resources consumed instead of investing in data centers and servers before knowing their exact requirements.
2. Benefit from economies of scale
Variable costs are lower than clients can access on their own. This is because cloud computing providers, such as Amazon, build their own huge data centers, which benefit from the economies of scale and lower prices for the client.
3. Stop guessing capacity
Access as many or as few resources depending on current demand, instead of buying too many or too few resources by guessing the needs of the business. Resources can be scaled up and down as required with no long-term contracts.
