Purposes and Uses of Ports and Protocol
TCP/IP suite provides end-to-end connectivity by specifying that the data should be packetized, addressed, transmitted, routed and received on a TCP/IP network.
Protocols and Ports
Many protocols run on the different layers of the OSI model and their port numbers identifies those protocols
The protocols and the ports associated with them are as follows:
SSH 22
SSH involves SSH servers that use the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in the form of an RSA key
The server sends its public key to the client that creates a session ID and encrypts the server’s key by using the public key, and sends it back to the server
The server decrypts this session key ID and uses to forward all data
Only the client, and the server knows this session ID
SSH uses port 22 and TCP for connections
